13 March – AGM and lakes opening

The season opens on the lakes on Saturday 18 March, members will have to wait a couple of weeks before they can fish the river.

The Annual General Meeting will be held at the Leconfield Hall, Petworth at 18:30 on Friday 17 March.

After the formal business of the AGM, members and their guests are invited to enjoy drinks and canapés provided by the Estate and volunteers from the club.

This a lovely opportunity to catch up with fellow members ahead of the start of the season and discuss those all-important spring tactics!

Please bring your spouse or friends to the AGM, guests are very welcome, but we would ask for a contribution of £10.00 to made for any guests you bring. Members, on this occasion, will not be charged.

This is the last catch return for the season as the lakes and river are now closed until 2023.

Another wet week, the catch returns reflect the ‘fishability’ of the various lakes. The by-pass system has been working well especially at Little Springs, members concentrated their efforts there. Only a couple of days of the season left, make the most of them !

It’s good to see them swim away.

The river trout season ended on a high note with the capture and release of a 3lb sea trout.

More than half of the rainbows caught were over 2lbs.

The fish at Little Bognor were feeding well in the autumn sun taking buzzers and dry flies.

Many thanks to Rob and Tom for feeding everyone at the Autumn BBQ.

Thank you Poppett for your amazing cakes !

Now that the water temperature has dropped and the rainbow lakes have been stocked for the autumn, catch numbers have increased dramatically.

It is good to see that a graying was caught yesterday on Beat D, near the riffle.
